Ampelos Resort offers a small, cozy, family operated hotel that is targeted as the perfect location for courses, conferences, meetings, seminars, theater or as a quiet refuge. The resort is newly built and therefore provides all the modern day amenities while retaining the Greek atmosphere and culture. You will notice the unique details such as the reception which is designed after an old farm house or the arches which are based on the old arches from the ancient city of Hora.
Ampelos resort is located in Hora - a village with a fortress from the 13th century. The village is built on the mountain side 250 m above the blue ocean. Hora is also known as the "Balcony to the Aegean Sea".
At the edge of the city is where Ampelos Resort is located. Right next to the lambs grazing and the vines climbing the olive trees. We are just a short 8 min walk from the shaded plaza in the center of Hora with its colorful tavern atmosphere. A quiet and yet picturesque location with close proximity to the taverns, plazas, stores and bus stop.
As you approach Ampelos Resort you will first notice the old farmhouse with its rough stonewalls. From there you will see the little plaza with the theater built on an old threshing place next to the infinity swimming pool. The whole area is surrounded by a green slate patio, however, you will be distracted by the view over the ancient city of Hora.
Around the plaza you will find 10 small whitewashed rooms that has been designed as its own little village. There is also a common room and reception next to the proprietors villa. There are two arches that leads into separate small gardens making them a perfect spot for a BBQ, watching the sunset or relaxing with a good book.

We have designed the rooms to be as cozy and comfortable with all the amenities you will need. All the rooms have a queen size bed as well as six of them include a single bed/sofa.
Each room includes: Bar area with refrigerator and basic kitchen outfit, small marble table with farm-style chairs, vanity with an old fashioned mirror, direct-dial telephone and optional ISDN Internet connection, television and radio, climate controlled air conditioner and heater, private bathroom with shower, Orthopedic beds, hair dryer
In front of each room you will have a balcony with a breathtaking view to the white village of Hora and the mountain monastery Panagia. Several of the rooms also have a view to the Aegean Sea and the group of islands - Serifos, Sifnos, Strongilos, Antiparos, Paros and Naxos
As you arrive in Folegandros you will be greeted at the ferry and taken to Ampelos Resort in our minibus. We also have parking facilities if you choose to bring your own car.
For breakfast you can make it yourself or join us in the common room and partake from our buffet. You may enjoy breakfast either in your room or on the patio in the shade of the pergolas and enjoy the wonderful view.
In the common room we have the reception as well as a fireplace, television, phones, internet access, maps and billboard with information about the island. In addition, the facilities include a kitchen and bathroom.
The common room provides a cozy atmosphere with its mahogany floor and special local green slate which is traditional for Folegandros. The room can be used for teaching, projects, meetings or just relaxing.
During your stay at Folegandros we can help you in getting around on the island as well as when you depart we will take you back to the ferry.
