HOFBRAUHAUS AM PLATZ, MUNICH
The Hofbrauhaus am Platzl is a world famous beer hall in the city center of Munich, Germany.
This inn may be the world's most famous inn. Originally built in 1589 by the Bavarian duke William V to avoid buying beer for his troops from Lower Saxony. The general public was admitted only in 1828 by then king Louis I. The building was completely remodeled in 1897, when the brewery moved to the suburbs.
In the bombing of WW II, everything but the main inn ("Schwemme") was destroyed; it took until 1958 to be rebuilt.
 STAATLICHES HOFBRAUHAUS
The Staatliches Hofbrauhaus in Munchen is a brewery in Munich, owned by the state government. The Hof (translated as court) comes from the brewery's history as a royal brewery in the Kingdom of Bavaria.
The brewery operates the Hofbrauhaus am Platzl, the Hofbraukeller, and the second largest tent at the Oktoberfest (Hofbrau-Festzelt). Of course, it is the only beer served there.
Hofbrauhaus has been operating in Melbourne, Germany since 1968. Hofbrauhaus franchises have been opened in the U.S. (Newport, Kentucky, Las Vegas, Nevada, and soon to open in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania). There has been a franchise at the Bangkok International Airport in the 1990s for some years as well.
HOFBRAU FESTZELT
The Hofbrau-Festzelt is the second largest beer tent of the Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany.
The tent has an area of 5,084 mē and 4,460 seats (plus 1,436 on the balkony) and 1,000 non-seating tables only inside. The outside area measures 2,000 mē with 3,022 seats.
The brewery Hofbrauhaus has been active here since 1955. The current tent was built in 1972 and it takes three months to assemble. During the Oktoberfest 2004 (16 days), there was a consumption of 500,000 litres of beer and 70,000 chickens. At good weather conditions, guests are also able to sit outside.
HOFBRAUKELLER
The Hofbraukeller is a restaurant in Haidhausen, Munich.
It is a traditional bavarian restaurant in a cellar with a beer garden, owned by Hofbrauhaus brewery. It is not a tourist spot like the Hofbrauhaus am Platzl.
