Pagali, the ancient name for our island Amorgos, has two meanings: "The very beautiful" and a "Female Deity depicted with large embracing arms".
In prehistoric times, Amorgos island was one of the most important centers of the Cycladic civilization, as shown by the numerous ruins found in excavations throughout the island. Today, visitors can enjoy peaceful holidays in a time-honored Aegean island, with beautiful sandy beaches and picturesque mountains for hiking, traditional villages with hospitable people and lots of festivals with local music and dancing.
Such a village is Langada, built on the hill that surrounds Aegiali, the second port of Amorgos on the NE part of the island. PAGALI hotel is about 3 km from Aegiali's port. You can get there by taxi (it costs 800 drs approx.) or by bus; the bus fare costs 250 drs and the stop is just 50 meters from the hotel complex .
