Santorini is the most popular Greek Island
Visually spectacular, Santorini should be approached by sea to get the full effect of sailing into a giant crater, so take the ferry instead of flying there and be sure to arrive before dark. Fira is touristy, Oia is quieter. The daytime action is at the beaches, Perissa and Kamari. While on Santorini be sure to try the Raki and domatokeftedes (fried tomato-balls).
The ruins of Ancient Thira and Akrotiri are worth the trip if you are unimpressed by the most spectacular sunsets on this planet.
