Villas on the Cycladic Island of Sifnos

Sifnos at a Glance: Visually attractive and still Greek. For the thirty and older crowd, single or married with children. Apollonia, in the center of the island, has fun nightlife. Great beaches all around the island. Fantastic food and wine. My favorite for twenty years. Port of Kamares is nice combination of beach, restaurants and a few bars all within walking distance. The cleanest port in the entire Aegean. Vathi is quiet with excellent food at Manolis Taverna. You can get there by road or small daily boat. There are daily ferries doing the 5 hour trip from Pireaus and there are daily connections with Serifos, Kythnos and Milos. During the summer there are daily or almost daily connections to Santorini, Paros, Naxos, Mykonos, Ios, and Syros by flying dolphin. There is also a a ferry that stops in Sifnos on its way too and from Rethymnon, Crete three times a week.

Villa Throssia

Throssia is situated in the village of Exambela, high in the hills of the small island of Sifnos (resident population under 3000). Exambela is a twenty-minute walk (or a short bus-ride) from the main town of Apolonia. The first level has one bedroom with double bed plus cot; one bedroom with a double bed and a separate single bed; one room with twin beds, en-suite toilet and washbasin; one small single bedroom with bunk beds; one folding bed in hall area; bathroom with WC. On the second level there is a large, bright, fully equipped kitchen/dining area; archway to cool living room (with sofa-bed). Double doors lead from kitchen and from living room on to extensive balcony surrounding all upstairs area. Spectacular views across the garden and orchard, the Castro Valley and across the Aegean to distant Cyclades islands.

Salamander House

Salamander house is detached in 1000 sq. m of land and has one double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (shower, WC and sink) and another bedroom with two single beds, a communal bathroom with small bathtub, shower, WC and sink. There is a kitchen equipped with washing machine, refrigerator and full size oven with 4 electric hobs. There is a washing up sink and work-counters The living room is three steps down from the kitchen and has a large sofa (which could be an extra bed) and armchair. There are private verandahs from each bedroom and off the living room. Going down the steps outside the house is the entrance to another bedroom with double bed and private bathroom with shower, WC and sink. The views from the verandah are of the bay and the port of Kamares and the mountains and valley towards Apollonia. The house is located in Kamares which is has a long sandy beach which is ideal for children as it has a slow gradient into the sea.
