Originally part of Mexico, Las Vegas became the city we know it as today in 1911. Gambling was legalised in the 1930s in the city with the opening of Bugsy Siegel's Flamingo Hotel on what would become the Las Vegas Strip in 1946. In the 1970s, Siegfried and Roy were introduced to the Frontier Hotel, the first magicians to astonish Las Vegas with their larger-than-life performance.
