Chile narrowly stretches along the southern half of the west coast of South America. The bordering countries are Bolivia and Peru in the north, and to the east over the Andes is Argentina. Chile has over 5.000 km of coast on the South Pacific Ocean.
Easter Island is also part of Chile and is one of the most isolated islands on earth, far off in the Pacific Ocean, roughly halfway to Tahiti. Chile also has a claim to a portion of Antarctica.
